today, i am THANKFUL.

thankful for biopsies that come back benign. thankful for a dad who never laughs at me when i ask a stupid question and always fixes everything that is broken. thankful for a mom who taught me to cook. thankful i still have a job and we can still make ends meet. thankful that even though my mom is gone, i still have two mother's in my life that don't try to take her place, but instead fill in the gap nicely. thankful for a husband who helps around the house more than any other husband i know. thankful for children who make me want to pull my hair out and plant a big fat kiss on them all at the same time. thankful for medication so i don't have to live with a racing, erratic heartbeat every day. thankful for a furnace that keeps me warm and cozy--and that isn't really broken. thankful for a grandmother that never shoo-ed me away when she was crafting and taught me that you can make anything you set your heart too. thankful for the internet and a reconnection with old friends. thankful for the extra helping of patience the Lord gives me on the days i struggle through motherhood. thankful for a talent that i can use to inspire others. thankful for new blog readers. and thankful for salvation and the hope that lives within me.

i hope you and yours have a beautiful day together giving thanks for all you've been blessed with!

  2. Well, I'm pretty basic these days - I simply thankful for a job so I can put food on my table this Thanksgiving as well as keep a roof over our heads. I know so many working in other state agencies who are working in fear, and I am grateful for a position where not only I feel secure in these tumultuous times, but also valued and respected. I am very lucky.

  3. I am most thankful for my family. I too have a husband who is such a help and blessing. I would go crazy without all he does for me and the rest of us.

  6. I am thankful for my family, who I miss so much because for the first time in over 10 years (since college) I have no family for Thanksgiving. It's alot harder than I thought emotionally. I have been on the phone with my sister all day. Looking at ads together, getting cooking advice, or just talking. You really don't know what you got until its gone.

  14. I'm so grateful for so many things! First of all to have an attitude of gratitude (that didn't sound humble, did it?? oops!); to live in a free country to worship God freely--I won't take that for granted; that my husband is home with us, not serving our free country; so thankful for all the troops sacrficing for our country's freedom and their families they left behind that are missing them; family members that are generous and gracious when they don't have to be; coffee; healthy family; friends; shelter.

  15. I have many things to be thankful for (after all my blog is titled Blessed Beyond Measure.) But, I think this year I am thankful to have my mom. She is a survivor, a Breast cancer survivor!! She has 22 more Radiation treatments to go- but God has touched her and she is going to be fine!! (Oh and she looks so cute with the peach fuzz that is just starting to grow back in on her head!!)She is so amazing, a couple of weeks ago after church she went to sing all by herself at the local Nursing home.
