our Easter...

Photobucket
thank you for sharing your Easter traditions. i have those comments printed and in my binder for reference next year. i found a few more while hopping around the web and landed on this lovely recipe from a dear friend and knew immediately that it would be the one thing we tried this year. it was the perfect family activity and the girls had so much joy on their faces when we delivered them to teachers and neighbors and friends. they are so incredibly easy for the kids to make with minimal parental assistance and the recipe makes a ton of them.....at least 60. Recipe HERE.

late friday i landed on a webpage talking about a local egg hunt on saturday morning for the kids put together by the fire department. we haven't been to a local egg hunt since we lived in canton and ash was 18 months old, so we decied to give it a try again. and we surely think we've found a new thing to look forward to each year.

can you tell that it was super windy........and freezing? at one point ash had her scarf wrapped like a bonnet over her head/ears and then crossed over under her chin and tied in a knot at the top of her head like bunny ears. it was comical.

both girls cleaned up! actually all the kids did. they had 10,000 eggs on the field for the kids, stuffed full of candy.

i think it's safe to say that they got more candy in 2 minutes hunting eggs than any kid could gather in 2 hours trick or treating.

heh. don't worry. i have grand plans for this candy come friday night. i purchased and saved a clearance gingerbread house just for this. hahhahaaa. smart, eh? emma's not the one i have to worry about.....she only likes plain hershey chocolate. ashlyn on the other hand....she could eat candy all day every day.

my computer is fussy this morning so i'm signing off before i lose this post...........a whole lot more later.........hang tight.

  1. So good that the egg hunt had plastic candy filled eggs. The ones around where I live are just those YUCKY sugar candy eggs.
