Homemade Cards for Senior Night - High School Sports (using Fun Stampers Journey & Richard Garay Products)

Hello friends!  'Tis the season for fall sports to be wrapping up and all the teammates to be celebrating the students on the team that are Seniors and playing for their final season before they graduate high school, whether it be for Football, Soccer, Volleyball, or even participating in the Marching Band.

My Freshman daughter plays both Volleyball and performs in the Marching Band so we will have quite a few different celebrations going on as we help recognize the Senior athletes at our school over the course of these next several weeks as the fall sports season ends.  To celebrate the teammates of hers I have come up with a card design that looks complicated thanks in part to the Cascading Stars Die Set, but is actually super simple to replicate over and over again! LOVE quick and easy cards that I can knock out super fast! Once you create the design of the first card, the rest are super simple to re-create assembly-line style.  Lucky for you, I've done the designing part for you! Now you just get to do the duplicating part! YAY!

This one is my go-to for these kiddos as we tell them how AMAZING they are!

I've used a healthy mix of both Fun Stampers Journey products and Richard Garay products from the Make Amazing Happen, Noteworthy and Lumberjack collections on this card design and I LOVE the end result!  (You can see a full supply list with direct links to the products at the end of the post.)

Doesn't the Cascading Stars Die Cut look AMAZING on top of the Journey Brush Silver Paper? I even kicked it up a notch with some Journey Silver Silk splattered over top for a little extra shimmer. The 3-Dimensional stars really help give this card the extra pizzazz that it needs to take it over the top and makes it feel just as special as the person you are gifting it to. They are finished off with some generic black alphabet stickers from the local craft retailer (not a Fun Stampers Journey product)

If the card looks extra large that's because it is!  Here's why...I chose a larger card base to allow for extra signature space on the inside so that all of the teammates and coaches could sign the card. So instead of the standard 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base, this card measures 5" x 7"....which is the typical size of a Hallmark card. To get this size you need to cut your cardstock to 7" x 10" before folding in half to form your card base.

To keep the inside of the card visually clean, I created the top panel off to the side and did all the stapling of the Journey Thread PRIOR to ever adhering the panel to the card front that way there are no staples showing on the inside of the card. Since it was getting handled by 30+ teammates for signing, I used White Liner as my adhesive to make sure I had a nice strong hold.

Here's a peek at the inside!  Super simple, with a basic message using the Phone Notes Stamp & Die Set from the Noteworthy collection by Richard Garay and loooooots of white space for all those lovey dovey messages from the team.

I've chosen the red, black and white color palette, because that is what our school's colors are, but you can duplicate this design using the colors of your student's high school or university.  This would make a GREAT card for any type of celebration, really! In that case, use any complimentary colors for an all-occasion type of card.

If you've never made the 3-Dimensional stars before, here's how:

1. Die-cut the star.
2. Create a score line from the center of each point to the center of the star.
3. Fold along the score lines.
4. Pinch between each point to create dimension.
5. Adhere to project using a double layer of medium foam square in the center and a single layer of small foam square under each point.

Hope you enjoyed this card design and enjoy CELEBRATING the awesome people in your life!
