so i've been told. i used to have a blanket with a satin edging that i would lick and rub across my top lip/under my nose. have no pictures to prove it through. blech!
oh, and it runs in the family. i have proof. i'll spare you the boatloads of pictures proving it this time and only share 1 of ash. but trust me, i have hundreds of her like this....
she's a little more particular and has to have this EXACT baby (even though she has 2 others that are just like it----i mean, identical. but somehow she knows the difference)
and wouldn't ya know, she rubs just above her lip with the baby hair that's gripped there in her finger. she skips the whole licking it first part. heh. heh.
anywho. today i'll be putzing around trying to get various odds and ends done that have gone ignored over the last month. so far it's been a lazy day. had a little visitor this morning for a few hours---my little nephew (3 days older than emma).
starting my day with some weight lifted off my shoulders today. over the past month my email inbox grew to over 400 messages.......almost all which went ignored. just had bigger fish to fry. but last night i whiddled and whiddled and whiddled it down. now i have 27. much more managable. phew. thanks for your patience in getting a response.
so, on my "must get done today" list:
drop off forms at the school (
find bucket of fall clothes for emma and take inventory
match socks (have an entire pillowcase, overflowing full of unmatched socks right now)
fold some laundry
quick run to grocery for diapers and laundry softener
remove price tags and wash new school clothes
all before 5pm.
then it'll be a night with the family. topped off with eclair cake as dessert. yummo! psssssst........ashlyn (5) made the entire thing herself----measuring everything on her own. it is that easy.
CHOCOLATE ECLAIR CAKE
2-3 sleeves plain graham crackers
2, 4oz boxes of instant vanilla pudding
3 cups milk
8 oz cool whip
FROSTING
2 tbsp milk
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 oz unsweetened chocolate squares, melted (or 6 tbsp cocoa powder AND 2 tbsp oil)
2 tbsp vanilla
2 tbsp light karo syrup
3 tbsp softened butter
In large bowl, mix dry pudding and 3 c. milk on medium speed until it thickens (approx 2 min.) Fold in cool whip. Allow to thicken while mixing the frosting. In medium bowl, mix chocolate, 2 tbsp milk, powdered sugar, vanilla, karo, and butter on medium speed until well mixed---the frosting is on the runny side. Set aside. Layer bottom of a 9x13 pan with whole graham crackers (you will have to break some in half to cover the entire bottom). Spread 1/2 pudding mixture over top, then add an additional layer of graham crackers. Add remaining pudding mix and add one final layer of grahams. Ice the top layer of grahams with the chocolate frosting. Refrigerate overnight to allow crackers to soften and frosting to firm up. Yield: 15 servings.
whoa - your recipe is nearly identical to mine except that we let the graham cracker layer part fridge for about 4 hours before frosting, and our frosting is thicker - it has 1.5 cups of powdered sugar and a little more milk I think...
