the day of the shopping craze.

Photobucket
are ya'll out shopping? i'm most definitely NOT! i've only been Black Friday shopping twice that i can remember. which isn't saying a whole lot---i've got that whole terrible memory thing going for me. once i went with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and it really wasn't so crazy. i remember it being very nice and leisurely, no fights, not many long lines. then i went once when ashlyn was a baby....i suppose it would have been her first Christmas. while they slept in, i hit Kohl's and loaded up on Fisher Price Little People playsets for 60% off. we still have them all. it's one of those baskets of toys we have that they don't touch for months and months and then they go through a phase where they drag them out everyday. someday soon, i imagine they'll go in storage and we'll pull them out when we have grandkids.

that's my favorite thing about going to my dad's house--watching the kids play with all the toys Connie saved. some from her kids and some from her own childhood. well loved.

yesterday was really the best day EVER. yummy food, relaxing, very comical, no sibling/cousin squabbles. really. just perfection. rock band was the highlight of the day---fo' sure. oh, if you could have just seen my dad trying to rap to the beastie boys. oh my goodness, i wish i had a video camera. we were laughing so hard our stomach was hurting.

it's been a slow pace 'round here this morning. i'm on my second {oversized} cup of decaf peppermint tea, chili is simmering in the crock, just enjoying a lazy day moving piles from one place to the next, shuffling laundry around, refereeing arguements between the littles and gearing up to enjoy a quiet evening decorating the tree.

only 26 sleeps left until Christmas!

  10. I can't do Black Friday shopping either. A couple of years ago there were some *great* deals that got me out -- but everything I was looking for was already sold out and it was such a mess of traffic and people, and I swore off Black Friday shopping again! - Brenda #3635

  17. It so hard to believe this year is almost over. I am glad I spend my "Black Friday" online shopping. I wanted a stress free day, before going back to work on Monday to a group of 2 years old children. Poor guys, they are already starting to feel the stress of the year.

Hope you have a great day, and keep up the wonderful work you do.
