i've still done nothing to move toward making my december daily album a reality once again this year. *sigh*
every year I say "i'm SO gonna do that!" and then i get caught up in dozens and dozens of assignments and deadlines. that's just the reality of my december as a freelance artist in the scrapbooking industry, with the CHA tradeshow being just around the corner.
i currently have 21 layouts, 4 cards, 3 small projects, 1 set of step-by-step instructions, & 1 tutorial to complete before december 10th. then a video to shoot & edit by december 16th. (and did you know i also work outside the home too?)
i'm not complaining at all! i SOOOOOOO love what i get to do! i'm a deadline driven person, so it's a perfect fit for me.
i actually gathered my materials in October for this project, promising myself i'd be on the ball this time around, but somehow time slipped away from me.
so for now, it still sits gathered in a basket, visually taunting me. :)
isn't it pretty? it's so me!
there will be lots of red and pink and lime green...with hints of turquiose and yellow.
lots of Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly, which (i hate to admit this) i bought last year to create this project & lots of Little Yellow Bicycle 25days product which you can get for a steal right now at Little Yellow Bicycle Bargains!
until i can get my act together and get a base album constructed---which won't take long---i'm just blogging through the december daily. it's still the same, right? <----i keep trying to convince myself that it is, LOL.
but once i do get my base done---hopefully this weekend---i'll be approaching it gluestick girl style. SO excited! i just love Lisa's style. she inspires me often.
so that brings me to day 2:
capturing december wouldn't be accurate unless i have at least one picture documenting the madness that takes place in my studio during the first few weeks.
it's total and utter chaos in there right now. ORGANIZED chaos, but chaos nonetheless.
anywho.
i also have some more SRM + Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 projects to share today. ya'll saw the SRM Design Team call, right? i hope you plan on applying---it's a FABULOUS company to work for. :)
okay.....the projects.
i love to gather up all my scraps after i complete a layout and see how i can put them together on a card. working with a smaller canvas is a nice way to wind down after a layout. and the perfect thing to create when i only have a few moments to steal away.
i still can't get over how easily the SRM stickers blend right into any paper. nearly seemlessly. :)
i wish you could see the glitter effect on this snowflake. it shimmers so beautifully and blends well with the extra sparkly silver glittered brad. you'll just have to take my word for it. (both of those, the brad & snowflake, are from Little Yellow Bicycle)
and of course, in true tania fashion, i had to pretty up the inside too.
those "xo" chipboard alphas are older BasicGrey....can't quite remember which collection they came from though. i wish i had a lifetime supply of them. love.love.
this card so did not photograph well. i'm jonesing for a new camera lens (the Canon 50mm f/1.8) to get better photos in low light.
anywho. this was another one of those 'i gathered my scraps to see what i could make' cards. everything is Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 except the sentiment stickers (SRM), the snowflake (LYB) and the coil brad (Karen Foster).
one last thing before i go, by popular request, i've put a small handful of Christmas cards in my etsy shop....these two included. these might be the only ones this year unless i get super motivated after all those deadlines are complete.
happy FRIDAY! see you back here tomorrow with some pictures of our visit with Santa tonight. :)
We are sooooooo much alike, even our December Daily color combos. :)
