GIVEAWAY: Echo Park Paper

i recently had the pleasure of being asked by Echo Park Paper to be their guest designer for May! have you seen their products? each collection is ever so perfectly coordinated and just absolutely delightful.

i've put together a little sampling of projects....a layout, cards and an altered project to share with you today. just warning you, this is the Mother of all scrapbooking posts, as it's quite lengthy, but if you keep reading to the end, you'll find out how you can win an Echo Park Paper collection kit of your very own. :) YAYPANTS.

this layout here was made using the Springtime collection. i have to admit, and you've probably noticed from past projects that i tend to go with bolder colors and shy away from the pastels, but this kit has stolen my heart! in fact, of the three i designed with, it's my ABSOLUTE favorite!

this layout is pretty straight forward, with lots of straight lines/color blocking. not rocket science, especially since the kit comes with this sheet of border strips.

i just cut the two strips off the top of this sheet for the top of my layout, cut 2 more horizontal strips the same widths from patterned papers in the kit for bottom of the layout, then added some 7" tall blocks of color (in varying widths) vertically across the page mixed in with a 5x7 photo. once that was put together, i used parts and pieces from the sticker sheet to finish off the layout.

here's some details of the layout....

on the sticker sheet there are small circles that perfectly matched the Blossoms print, so i added those directly on top using foam adhesive. the word art is printed directly on the photo and is by Ali Edwards, available at here at designer digitals. i added the stickers (also from the kit) to spell her name.

this tree sticker was just screaming for some bling, i thought. :) so i just added some subtle shimmer to it with tone on tone sequins and teeny tiny little green beads---so tiny they are hard to see in this photo. then i used some larger, darker beads down at the base of the tree as grass. all adhered with diamond glaze.

side note: the large coral circle is the XXL Lever Circle Punch and the cloud is a Squeeze Punch--both from Fiskars

if there are any questions you have that i didn't cover on this layout, please email me or leave it in the comment section. :)

okay, so moving along....

next, i opened up the Summer Days collection kit. does that not just scream FUN all wrapped up in a coordinated bundle? i absolutely think so! i can't wait to dig into this kit a bit more for some layouts. i'm just wishing i wouldn't have used up nearly the entire 12x12 sticker sheet making three cards. oopsie.

but, aren't they fun!?
definitely going to have to get another set just for those stickers---wowza!

the punches of red throughout the entire collection have stolen my heart. love.love.love. and that sweet little birdie.

and, this sweet scallop paper...

this card is built on a 5x7 texture white Bazzill card base and putting it together is super easy....
FRONT:
1. Cut cardstock to 7x10". Fold in half and crease.

2. Cut 2" x 7" strip from SD14009 Clouds paper with the strips running vertically. Adhere to bottom edge of card.

3. Cut 6 rows of scallops x 7" long from SD14010 Scallops paper with the scallops running horizontally. Adhere directly above SD14009 Clouds paper, slightly overlapping at seam.

4. Using Fiskars Medium Circle Lever Punch, punch 15 (or so) circles from remaining white textured cardstock. Adhere randomly in open white space above patterned paper allowing some to overhang the edge. Trim overhang.

5. Cut teal-bordered journaling card with yellow flower from SD14013 Journaling paper, right-aligned.

6. Layer 'grass is greener' sticker from SD14014 Element Stickers sheet and polka dotted cloud stick on top of journaling card.

7. Add additional cloud cut from paper in the Playground collection (or use SD14012 Borders paper as substitute). Cloud cut using Fiskars XL Cloud Squeeze Punch.

8. Finish layering with the red bird and red flower overhanging opposite sides of the journaling card from the same sticker sheet. Add small red bling to center of flower.

9. Add the letters to spell 'ALWAYS' from SD14015 Alpha Stickers.

10. Finish off with 'hello friend' sticker from SRM Stickers We've Got Your Sticker - Strawberry sheet.

if you've been following here for a while, you know, i can't call a card complete until the inside is decorated too. if not........now you know, LOL! i go a little overboard like that.

so here's the scoop on the INSIDE:
1. Cut 2" x 7" strip from SD14009 Clouds paper with the strips running vertically. Adhere to bottom edge of card.

2. Cut 3 rows of scallops by 7" long from SD14010 Scallops paper just like you did before. Adhere directly above SD14009 Clouds paper, slightly overlapping at seam.

3. Add 'you are a blessing' sticker from SRM Sticker Sentiments - Faith and the '&' from SRM Freestyle Summer.

4. Cluster small flowers & circles from the sticker sheet and add 'xoxo' in the lower right.

so, that's that one. and, here's a few other cards i created from the same collection---embellished both inside and out. it's just how i roll. :)

this is just a haphazard assortment of a variety of widths of patterned papers, layered on a 5x7 white base, with some SRM stickers (the black sentiments), and some Just the Edge border strips from Bazzill. i love that all the papers in the Echo Park collection kits match together seemlessly. no brainpower necessary trying to find perfectly coordinated combinations---it just all goes together. loooooove that.

the little girl is a journaling card with a border of red rhinestones running below it and other icecream stickers to help complete the scene. happy birthday is an SRM sticker from Sticker Sentiments - Birthday.

then, the inside....
just another strip of patterned paper, icecream from the sheet of Borders (each one embellished with a red rhinestone cherry on top), a larger icecream image on a journaling card, with a bazzill scalloped border. the top is a combination of stickers from the sticker sheet ('happy'), alpha stickers from the collection kit, and an SRM sticker from the same birthday sheet linked above.

okay, one last card from this collection before i show you my final project. :) are you still with me?

this one here just makes me smile! it's another mix of papers from the collection sitting pretty with some border stickers from the alpha sheet and sticker sheet. then, finished off with a strip of red rhinestones, an embellished cloud sticker, and a sunshine sticker raised up with foam adhesive.

the cloud is embellished with funky coil brads from karen foster design and adhesive pearls. i love the character it adds without being overbearing.

then, on the inside....

i built a happy scene and left plenty of room for a personal sentiment. everything on this card is from the Summer Day collection kit, except the white sentiment sticker along the bottom that says "follow your heart". that's an SRM sticker from We've Got Your Sticker - Sweet.

here's a little closer look. :) i adore this card, so very much. it's perfect for sending to a friend who needs a little pick-me-up.

lastly, i played a bit with the Playground Collection kit.

loooooved it. those little hearts in every color of the rainbow had me at hello. and that camera sticker? love it!

this piece pretty much scrapped itself! it was that easy.

i just used strictly the Playground Collection Kit with a 1 yard cut of baker's twine and a few mini-brads....that's it. :) oh, and my Fiskars Ripple scissors to create the deco-edge on the grass.

(i can't for the life of me get the blue hue off this photo...please pretend it's not there, LOL)

the project was created on an 8x10 base of patterned paper (the blue stripe), then matted and framed. finished size is 14" x 16". so it's a pretty substantial size.

here's a few more detail shots....

my favorite part is the 'now go play!' :)

and now for the GIVEAWAY!

for one lucky winner i have a brand-spankin' new Echo Park Paper Springtime Collection Kit....and i'm going to sweeten the prize with an assortment of SRM Stickers like were also shown on the cards.

so, here's the deal:

  1. Wow Tania!! I loved your first project here (the layout) and then each and every project you posted next just continued to blow me away!! I love all of these, but the cards have stolen my heart so as of right now it's the Summer Days collection which is my favourite. But the Springtime collection would definitely come in handy to scrap beautiful breezy carefree layouts about my two girls in the sunshine. I've been following your blog for at least a year now. You continue to amaze me :-)

  2. Love your projects, even though pastels just ain't your thing I thought your page was wonderful.

I adore the life is good collection, it's been used so much but I have found a new favourite in the new spots and stripes range.... brilliant need both colours but I love the bright one. Better yet is the silhouette shapes that they do :D

If I were to win the springtime I would scrap my childhood. it's kind of oldfashioned for reminiscing but not twee if that makes sense
