is it true, you might be a redneck if you....

is it true, you might be a redneck if you're latest craft was created with duct tape?

if so, then i suppose i'm a redneck. LOL

i'm sure many of you are familiar with Jeff Foxworthy, yes? the man of many "you might be a redneck if......" jokes. well, i'm the lucky wife who gets to hear some variation of his jokes often, as there are many that my husband deems hilarious enough to repeat over and over and over again.

it's rather annoying, in the 'oh, brother, here we go again' way, but i secretly laugh inside every time. (shhhhh, don't tell him i said so that'll just fuel his fire) his favorite is a modified version of the phrase "you might be a redneck if you thought loading the dishwasher meant getting your wife pregnant."

anywho. i digress. back to me, you know....the redneck crafting with duct tape. ha.

i recently put together an article for Fiskars on crafting up some desk accessories using duct tape along with Fiskars tools. and let me tell you, i had such an awesome time playing with duct tape. who woulda thought that duct tape could be so exciting!?

i mean, have you seen the amazing selection of duct tape there is these days? wowza. it's a tough decision trying to figure out which colors and patterns to get. the stuff comes in every color and pattern imaginable and it's pretty easy to find at your local stores---Target, Hobby Lobby, Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, and Michaels. i didn't look at Joann's but i'm sure they have it too.

just a little tip: it's cheaper at Target and Home Depot by about $1.50 per roll, but Michaels, albeit a little more expensive, has a few patterns that i was unable to find anywhere else.

and i'll tell you what, the girls snatched every last one of them from me and have been using them in their homework area ever since. ashlyn is especially fond of the magazine holder because she can store an entire ream of blank white paper in it and spidergirl called dibs on the spiral journal. she's forever scribbling little doodles in it while waiting at her doctor visits or to get her allergy shot.

which reminds me, it's about time for another round of kidART, isn't it. i'll work on getting my scanner reinstalled on the computer. my hard drive crashed two weekends ago. it's taken me a while to get my bearings straight again.
