Video Tutorial: Little Yellow Bicycle Makin' The Grade

have you seen Little Yellow Bicycle's Makin' the Grade collection in stores yet?  it's GORGEOUS!  it's a fun mix of primary colors with funky patterns and subtle tone-on-tones making it perfect for all those back to school memories, but also making many of the prints very versatile and useable on projects that aren't back-to-school themed.

there's a fun sketched/doodled element to many of the embellishments which brings me right back to those days in school when i was bored out of my mind and passed time by doodling on any blank surface i could find.

anywho.

my absolute FAVORITE embellishment in this collection is the Cork Stickers.  oh my word, they are CUTE!  but not as cute as my little cutie in the photos.  believe it or not, that was ashlyn six.years.ago.  SIX YEARS. they flew by.  still trying to find a way for time to slow down.  i took these during an open house/meet the teacher when she was in preschool.  yeah, she's a fifth grader now. i just had to stop and do the math thinking it would have been seven years ago, but i remembered she skipped Kindergarten, so it was only six years ago.
you can click any of these photos to see the detail larger.  the video supplement this time shows you a technique for how to take a piece of the New Notebook patterned paper from the collection and turn it into a piece of paper that looks like it was torn from a spiral notebook.  super simple technique, but a very good one to know so you can use acid free paper instead of using a piece of regular notebook paper.

as always, i've made a download with the Complete Instructions with Supply List: Makin' The Grade Learn Layout by Tania Willis

ENJOY!
