
1/2 c. margarine or butter (i used 1 cup and omitted the shortening)
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar (may subst. baking powder)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbsp. white sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
Preheat 400 degrees, ungreased cookie sheet.
Cream together butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs and mix well. Add in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Mix 2 Tbsp. white sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Roll cookie dough into 1" balls, then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 8-10 minutes. Cool for 2 minutes before removing to wire cooling rack. Store in airtight container.
Snicker doodles are one of my husbands favorite cookies. I make them all the time.
