so, about those challenges....

let's just say, i felt a little more than challenged. i only got two layouts done all weekend. two. not sure why, because those challenges were super simple and not meant to really be a 'challenge', but more like motivation to get something done.

this spidergirl layout came together super quick which completely surprised me. it was one based off of this sketch from studio calico.

i don't know why, but usually instead of a sketch inspiring me they usually paralyze my creativity. i know many scrapbookers who churn out gorgeous pages when challenged with a sketch. me? not so much.

but i keep trying anyway. i must say, i'm happy with this one even though it is super simple. i think i love it so much because this photo just makes me smile. big.

i'm so glad i remembered i had these spiders from the Little Yellow Bicycle Trick or Treat collection....i think they totally pulled the layout together! and the blue lined background paper from the Generation Z collection is one of my all-time favorite papers. it's the perfect shade of blue. spidergirl's favorite color is blue, don'tcha know.

i suppose i could say i met the 'use a party banner' challenge. kinda sorta. the 'i love you' looks like a banner-like string of letters, right? ha.

but for some reason, i really struggled with this next one.

remember me mentioning pushing around the same 4 papers and 2 photos for more than a few hours? yeaaah. for whatever reason, it still doesn't 'feel' right to me looking at it. but, that's okay. i don't have to be in love with it. the memory is done and i'll call it good.

this one was based on the challenge to use borders. the pictures are of ashlyn from about 3 years ago. they were taken during the time that she was obsessed with a portable walkman/CD player. she used to looove to put in Veggie Tales. blast the music loud, and sing along.

of course, there's those SRM stickers in use again. i can't seem to put 'em down. one of the other team members gave me a heads up that Scrapbook.com (<----click and type SRM in the search box) has them in stock and on sale right now.

(just in case you were wondering....NO, i don't get any kick-back or commission.....i just LOVE the stickers!)
