Video Tutorial: Hello, Spring Canvas Mini

hello friends!  i have another super fun video tutorial to show you my favorite way to alter Little Yellow Bicycle's new Canvas Mini Album kit along with the Hello, Spring collection.  the kit comes complete with 2 canvas covers, 6 thick chipboard insert pages and 3 extra large binding rings to put the album all together.

i've had lots of you asking how to use the clear shapes other than just plopping it down on a photo or directly onto patterned paper. so with this album, i decided to get a little messy with some basic acrylic craft paints on the covers, then layered the front up with a handful of clear acrylic shapes.

layering the clear cut shapes is one of my favorite ways to use them up.  whether i'm layering multiple clear shapes or layering the clear shapes along with paper die-cuts or punched pieces.

actually, i've not only painted the front covers, i also brought paint into the innards of the album.  once the patterned papers were situated onto the chipboard page inserts, i went to town swiping paint on a few of the solid papers, then got just a wee bit splatter happy. LOL.
all of the paint techniques i used in this album are covered in detail in this video:

as always, i've turned this into a FREE downloadable PDF file that has a complete supply list and instructions for you to replicate this album: Hello, Spring Canvas Mini Album Instructions by Tania Willis.

**be a little patient with the download. it is a 16 page tutorial, so it might take a few seconds to load since it's almost 8MB with all the detailed photos**

the album looks very detailed and like it will take hours upon hours to make your own, but in the video i also share my recipe for completing an album like this quickly!

the downloadable instructions have many more photos with more detailed shots of each individual page, but here's a quick visual walk through the album. (you can click any of the photos to view them larger)

you also won't want to miss the challenge i've issued. participants have the chance to win a $25 grab bag of Little Yellow Bicycle product!
and, one last thing, if you have something you'd like to see covered in an upcoming tutorial, be sure to share in the comments and i'll try my best to accommodate and work it in to a future training reel. :)

  1. You've completely blown this out of the ballpark, Tania. Wow! Thank you so much for showing ways to use the clear cut shapes! I just happen to have the materials on hand to create something like this...:)
