  2. How sweet! I like the spider cake BUT I always buy mine because I don't have the time or patience to make my own.

  3. My son is turning 4 in January - I let my kids pick what kind of cake they want, and have started making my own - I don't decorate though, just a 9x13 with candles - but they get to choose if they want a jello cake, chocolate cake, etc.

  4. Here is my suggestion about the cake as a first time reader of your blog.....this time of year seems to be about hustling around to get things done. So I would look at what allows you to slow down and take things in. If making your daughter's cake is going to be fun and relaxing for you, do it. If not then just buy one, she isn't going to know the diffance. All she wants is for Momma to be present in her life.

  5. I love the spidey cake and it's much easier to buy one...lol.
    What a wonderful RAK.

  9. I like the one with the spiddy on the web. I will suggest you buy one at this time of the year when there seems to be thousands of things to do. Happy Birthday to the little one.

  10. I love to make cupcakes "cakes." Just push all the cupcakes together, frost the tops like one whole cake, and then everyone call pull off their piece via individual cupcakes! Thanks for the change to win! ~ML

  11. I agree, at this time of year. I would buy the cake. Congrats to Diva for winning yesterdays prize. wooohoooo more Christmas goodies.

  12. If you have time (as if) then make the cake but if your peace of mind is more important, buy it! You should be able to buy a nice Spiderman cake. Fairly popular subject!

Happy Birthday to the sweetie pie!

More Christmas goodies, I could sure use those!
    Congrats JavaDiva !

  14. I can not even for one minute believe she is turning 4 tomorrow! Before you know it she is going to be graduating. Anyway I think you should buy the cake so we can go to BD tonight for dinner. But if I had to choose one for you to make, the top one is really cute! Any ideas on what to get the little super hero? :)

  17. I buy mine because I just don't have the patience to make one. But if you can do it...I like the spiderman head one!! That one looked cool!! Check what the grocery stores have to offer. Sometimes they may be cheaper! Thanks for the chance to win!

  18. Do a reality check and decide what is best for you. Then, IF you decide to make one, the top is easier AND she will have a toy at the end :)

Personally, all Batman cakes were made at a store and there were a LOT of them. LOL!

  19. Buy one - because RED - - DEEP DARK RED is kinda hard to achieve in a large amount of icing...

  20. I vote for buying a cake. Way to busy of a time of year to spend time baking and decorating a cake. boy do I miss the age of 4. Would love to go back to that time of life. They grow up so fast

  21. If you have the time, make it. I've both bought and made and I have always had fun making it. They do have cute cakes at the stores too. Target's cakes are really good too.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I always buy mine ut have always wanted to learn to make my own. I like the red spidey face and that doesn't look to hard.

    Enjoy your day.

  23. I would say use your creativity & make one! I typically make the ones for our family, but then again I don't do the decorated ones. My children go for easy cakes like ice cream cakes, cheesecakes or something along those lines for their birthdays. Believe me though, the other children attending the party when we had cheesecakes were not too thrilled!! I think the adults & my children were the only ones who ate cake that year!

  24. Both the spidey cakes are wowsa-but I can only imagine they would take a lot of time, which at this time of year is at premium for everybody. So I go for the "buy" which should give you more time to enjoy the process.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Agree with those who say if making the cake is fun for you, go for it. If not, buy it!

And I'd love to win those goodies!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Buy one your so busy so buy yourself some time while you are at it! My son is 4 in Feb, can't wait to see how the party went! Keep smiling! Thanks, Desiree

  27. If you enjoy decorating cakes then I say make it because we have bought one for the last five years for my great-nephew and they were sure not as cute as the ones you pictured. On the other hand, he was thrilled with each and every store bought one he got.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'd say buy one...if your like me I wouldn't have the patience to make one...I'd love to have to win your wonderful christmas goodies..TFS!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I am sure you could make a beautiful Spider Cake, but since it is for tomorrow, I would opt for buying one. Age 4 is so wonderful!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I say definitely buy one and save yourself the time!! Enjoy the extra time!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. If you have time, and enjoy doing it, make the cake. If not, buy one b/c its so much easier. :) I like the first spidy cake and she gets to keep the topper as a toy. - Brenda #3635

  40. What a fun blog! I'm glad I stopped by.
I would buy a cake because like so many others, I don't have the patience to decorate one myself.

  41. Happy 4th B-day to your Daughter. I love the 1st cake the best. Love the yellow.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Jason had a spiderman cake for his 4th birthday too - we bought it at Kroger.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh wow - how COOL a mom you are to make a Bday cake, esp. at this busy time of year. If you go for homemade, I vote for the Spidey face one. (Personally, I buy the cakes at the grocery bakery!)
My now-9yo loved Spidey when he was 4 and 5. At one point he asked for a Spiderman cake for his birthday...but he doesn't like cake (yeah, I know - amazing, huh?! More of a cookie guy). Anyway, he said, "yes, I don't like cake, but I like the man on TOP of the cake". :D So - if you decide to make your own, just remember your dear one may want the action figure too?

  44. hum, I think it´s better to buy one, because you´re running with christmas and birthday stuff so much....so you could get some time to just give a lot of kisses in your little girl....

  45. What a wonderful day spending time with your husband. We will be there tomorrow night between 5:30 and 6:00pm. Please enter me for the drawing tomorrow. I was at work all day today, feels good to be sitting in bed.

  47. Busy season! If you have the time, bake one (the yellow spiddy looks great!), if not, buying one will save you so much time.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Baking one like that? It will be like half a day gone for me :) But if you are really good at it, baking one is the choice!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Give yourself a huge break and buy one.
    Cool goodies in your give-a-way!
