CONGRATULATIONS Raechelle!

Raechelle said...

Love these projects, especially the framed piece- so FUN! As far as a fav. EP collection- gosh that is a tough one. I am going to have to say Summer Days right now- the colors are so bright and cheerful. I would probably make some cards or another banner with the SPringtime collection.

etsy update + a GIVEAWAY!

a little peek of what i've just loaded in the shop!

not long ago, i decided to start selling some of my handmade goods in an online shop all my own called beautifully Handmade. you can read this post for why i came to the decision to open shop, but long story short....it's all for raising money to help pay the medical bills after insurance that we accumulate having two chronically ill kiddos.

i've put together a little giveaway of some of these handmade goodies because you're all such awesome readers! i appreciate each and every one of you who take time out to visit this little space of mine. so, thank you.

you know the drill. leave your name in the comments and if you feel like sharing, tell me what memorial weekend traditions you have. but just a "pick me" is cool too.

good luck! i hope you win! (and if not, you know where to find more where that came from....right here!) i'll pick a winner Sunday morning.

happy Saturday! it's Easter weekend-------whoooohoooooooo! i love Easter weekend. for me, Easter weekend seems like the start of the year. new beginnings just waiting to be discovered.

today's a busy one. we're off in a few to hunt some eggs, then back home to make some homemade chicken & noodles, then i'm back out the door again for the day to photograph a wedding! i'm super stoked! then i'm back home to fold Mt. Washmore (heeee. i just love that term adopted from my friend) and watch Sherlock Holmes with the Mister. busy day.

before i hit the ground running, here's just a bit about today's card. it features more Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety and SRM stickers! more specifically, the Egg Hunt circle, the word "chicks" and the word "springtime" are all from the Express Yourself - Easter set. and the "time to celebrate" is from the Sticker Sentiments - Birthday set.

since I'm forever talking about my love of SRM stickers, and since SRM has been generously agreed to sponsor a giveaway here, I've put together a sampling of their sticker sheets for one lucky reader to enjoy! they are all appealing to scrapbookers and cardmakers, alike!

GIVEAWAY includes: SEVEN sheets, including: Say It With Stickers - Birthday, Sticker Sentiments - Happy Birthday, Express Yourself - Birthday, Express Yourself - Mother's Day, Express Yourself - Everyday Life, Sticker Sentiments - Thank You, Express Yourself - Easter.

it's a giveaway! *WINNER*

  • giveaway: some of my favorite things---border strips! 22 of them! most of them are self-adhesive--actually, all but 2 of them are.
  • sorry for the delay. blogger was being fickle yesterday and i couldn't get the post to publish.
  • you can click those images to see them bigger.
  • time for me to be real......
  • this is one of those weeks that is kicking my butt. working long hours---thanks to tax season. oh, the joys of working for an accountant. heh.
  • 15 more days........15 more days.........15 more days..........
  • i've decided that living with chronic pain is the pits.
  • i'm waking up with 2 spoons.
  • and while i'm being honest, taking a shower & then blowing my hair out with a round brush is enough to exhaust both of them. so, this morning, the hair just won't get washed.
  • these are the types of decisions i have to make every day. constantly judging how i feel against what i can accomplish and understanding that with the kids there's always the unexpected so i need to keep a spoon or two in reserve.
  • anywho. the last 4 days i've spent on the verge of tears, pushing through the pain, because i can't exactly work and pop pain killers & muscle relaxers and still function.
  • laying in bed all day is not an option.
  • anywho.....enough of that. spidergirl is still doing wonderfully after surgery.
  • but the loudness? it's still there. like she can't hear herself talking.
  • i must say "emma, shhhhhhh, not so loud" at least 20 times a day.
  • the other girl has yet another cold with a croupy cough and more mouth sores, but the chemo is actually working favorably for her condition.
  • it's a case of robbing peter to pay paul, i suppose.
  • a cough is better than dealing with losing all her hair, so we'll take it.
  • i was out at a store last night and not having a great day--just feeling off---and the young girl at the register kept saying "don't stress-out, it's okay." then a few minutes later, "are you okay?", yeah, i'm fine. then again, "really, you're so stressed out, is everything okay?"
  • i'm usually good at hiding my stress level, but this girl could see right through me. so, i was honest with her.
  • she then said "be stressed all you want, okay!" i laughed. thanks for permission.
  • in the past two weeks, dad replaced the alternator and then the brakes on the mister's truck. thank God for a dad who can do those things for us and save us hundreds of dollars.
  • can't think of anything else at the moment......

if you'd like to win, just leave a comment on this post. i'll leave it open until friday morning.

**WINNER IS TONA**** email me with your address please!

  • another giveaway coming tomorrow. :)

ATTN: Art Journalers!! (pssst....it's a GIVEAWAY!)

hello friends!
Photobucket
if you don't know the work of my super talented friend, Dina Wakley, then you are missing out. i LOVE to visit her blog when i'm lacking inspiration because her art has so many layers and textures......it's purely DELICIOUS! she's the Master at creating gorgeous art journals and texture filled scrapbook layouts.

i used to fear creating in an art journal---just an overall struggle for me, but after sitting in on dina's first class, Art Journaling 101, that fear melted away....instantly.

dina is an AMAZING teacher with both written text AND detailed video tutorials showing her students how to make art, both purposeful and meaningful!

she's done it again with the launch of Art Journaling 201: Masterful Art Journaling Class.

Dina says, "This class is going to be different than other classes you've taken. We're going to take an artist and learn about his or her life...sort of a crash art history course. Then, we're going to take the artists' style and art and use it as a starting point for our own journals. We're not going to be recreating the artists' work...I'll save that for 4th grade art class. No, we're going to draw snippets of inspiration that can fuel your own work for pages & pages.
Intrigued? :)"

Registration is still open! And...there is an early registration prize!! Register by Monday for a chance to win a set of 6 Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Acrylics and some ephemera!

Class starts Tuesday! But, now's your chance to win a FREE pass to Art Journaling 201: Masterful Art Journaling. Just leave a comment on this post and i'll be back Monday to announce a winner!

now, though........i'm off to get hairbows made and sashes steamed for the girls. they are flowergirls for Greg & Kristin's wedding! it's TONIGHT! yay! there will be LOTS of pictures come Monday! :o)

have a lovely weekend!
good luck!

GIVEAWAY time!

are you ready for another GIVEAWAY? wanna win a FREE pass to my online class starting April 9th?
Photobucket
In Loving Memory: During this 5-week course (one session per week) I will help spur you on to create an album dedicated to a loved one you have lost, all the while encouraging you to be gentle on yourself through the process. I will provide prompts and challenges to help you get your thoughts in order and onto the page, as well as suggestions for selecting photos and how to overcome the dilema of not having many photos at all. In addition, page sketches will be offered and a variety of embellishment techniques will be taught along the way.

There's not a better way to complete a treasured project than in the company of a supportive teacher who is on her own journey of remembrance after losing her mom very suddenly and unexpectedly the summer of 2007. “It’s scrapbooking as a healing therapy, not just art.”
*************************************
To be entered for a chance to win a FREE class pass to my online class, just leave me a comment........and tell me about your Easter traditions. i'm looking to do something fun and different.

but, i only have one. i hope that you enjoy the step-by-step tutorial and try your hand at one of your very own. if you do, be sure to share---i'd love to see it!

my trusty winner-picker, random.org, tells me the winner is..........the LOVELY, beautiful, and awesomely inspiring...........

NIKKI said...Tania, I adored this gratitude journal the first time you posted it and have often thought about trying my hand at making one. I'm thankful that God crossed our paths all those years ago and continues to use your life to bless and encourage mine. XO

coincidence? i think not! i love when things like this happen. i actually did a little dance in my seat and let out a holler when i counted down to find the name corresponding with the number generator.

of all the people in the world that i know, she would be the one that is a perfect fit for this kind of thing! i'm so incredibly happy for the journey this album is about to embark on. is your address still the same, nik?

i've had the pleasure of knowing nikki since i was just 15 years old. she was quite an influence in my life during those teen years and beyond. her and her husband jon were our youth leaders, our go-to double daters often to spagetti warehouse or don pablos, and built lots and lots of memories with us before moving away to be closer to their family in Wisconsin. i have so many memories with nikki that i could fill a years worth of blog entries with stories alone.

the best ever, and unforgettable would be the birdseed story from our wedding. remind me to tell you about it sometime. hysterical. although i'm sure it still makes her blush.

but right now..........i must get back to working in the studio. and begging spring to catch up with the calendar. my heat should not be running non-stop this late in the year.

stay tuned for another giveaway on MONDAY!

GIVEAWAY: Handmade Gratitude Album

Photobucket
'tis true! i'm finally going to send this off into the world to one lucky winner. it's a hard one to giveaway, because i *adore* it with all my heart. it's one of those projects that turned out 10 times better than i envisioned.

i've posted a few images of this in the past and in case you didn't already know, i made this album into a FREE downloadable step-by-step tutorial that can be found in 4 parts HERE. you will need to be registered (free) and logged in to download the files.

anywho.
here's just a few more peeks of what the album looks like. it's approx. 9x9 in size and filled to the brim with shaped and embellished pages with lots of little journaling cards in between each page and it's loaded with texture and dimension. all you need to do is add your photos + words!

PS. you do not have a be a scrapbooker to enjoy this album as it is also beautifully suited for someone who only journals. my original goal was to keep it as a family gratitude journal, but i won't be able to have my whole family participate until emma can do more than scribble on paper, hahahaa.
